Chalet Sarcleret has been recently renovated with a stunning interior design by Nicole Salvesen, of Salvesen Graham Designs, in the style of a classic English country home and was featured by the Sunday Times Style magazine. Creating an entirely unique experience in the Alps, this is a chalet where everything feels thought through. There are lots of configuration options as the chalet has 6 ensuite rooms as well as a bunk room for 6 children.
Brand new in 2023, Chalet Sarclaret takes its namesake from a traditional farming tool – similar to a hoe – that has been used in and around the Alps for generations. Long before the ski resort existed, farmers have grown crops, raised livestock, and worked the land; creating an everlasting bond between people and the mountains. It is this sense of tradition that underpins the aesthetic of Chalet Sarclaret. Designed by interior designer Nicole Salvesen, floral touches and organic colour palettes create the immediate feel of a traditional English country house. Lofty ceilings and striking wooden architecture add flavours of the Rocky Mountain prairie; all of which come together to form something that is uniquely charming.
However, don’t be fooled. For all its charm, Chalet Sarclaret is far from predictable. Striking combinations of prints and colours give this chalet an edginess that you’d expect more to find in a London studio than the French Alps. Bold, retro features are combined with pretty, cottage florals to create something that feels interesting and very intentionally curated.
As well as stunning aesthetics and interior design, Chalet Sarclaret also has everything you need for the perfect Alpine holiday. Sleeping up to 16 people in 6 ensuite bedrooms and a delightful bunk room for kids, it’s ideal for families or large groups to come and spend quality time together in the mountains. Although it can sleep a large number, Sarclaret never feels cramped. The communal rooms are extremely spacious. Its many windows allow the light to spill in, and high ceilings create a sense of airiness and space.
The top floor boasts a stunning country-style kitchen. Mellow pastels and exposed wood give it a beautifully traditional feel, whilst polished brass fixtures and forest green marble worktops add an irresistibly luxurious touch. From here we move into the beautiful open plan living and dining room which offers stunning views of Nyon and a delightful open fireplace adorned with hand-painted ceramic tiles – a quintessential feature of 19th and 20th century Britain. Each ensuite bedroom has been expertly curated to create a space that is cosy, chic and unusual. The bedrooms are spread across three floors, which offers privacy and peace during those quiet moments. The bunk room on the second floor sleeps 6, and is a fantastic place for kids to plot their next big adventure. Large beds and lofty triangular eaves give the room a rare feeling of being both intimate and spacious; and large glass doors allow you to keep a subtle eye without spoiling the fun!
Chalet Sarclaret also boasts a cinema room on the ground floor, and a hot tub in the grounds of the beautiful garden. With near 360 degree views of the mountains, the hot tub is the perfect place to soak up the views, whilst you soak your tired legs. In the summer, the garden offers an ideal spot to rustle up an epic BBQ and bathe in the dreamy Alpine sunshine.
So if you’re looking for somewhere that has the comfort of an English country cottage, the elegance of a Parisian townhouse and the sophisticated touch of a London art studio, look no further. Chalet Sarcleret is available on a self-catered basis in the summer; a catered package in the winter, and is a delight all year round – so why not give it a try!
