The chalet is spread over two floors perched on the side of the mountain. Access is directly from the piste by a small private funicular lift which will also deliver you from the road to the front door. For those who prefer not to take advantage of the easy ski in: ski out, the chalet is located just 100 m from the main ski lift, so no problems with easy access.
The chalet sleeps up to 12 people in 5 en-suite bedrooms and also has a superb leisure spa room with sauna and hammam, adjacent to the large secluded outdoor Jacuzzi.
The chalet sleeps up to 12 guests in five generously sized ensuite bedrooms, all of which have panoramic mountain views and are named after famous Swiss resorts.
Verbier is the master suite. Central to this is the unique superking bed. Hand crafted from locally sourced Arolle mountain larch trunks, specific to the region, the size of which required the bed to be delivered by helicopter, it is positioned to make the most of the 42” TV and the view through the floor to ceiling windows. It promises a great end to your day. The mountain vista is also seen from the large walk-in ensuite shower and double ended bath and a wide balcony allows complete seclusion.
Zermatt, Klosters, Gstaad are all individually furnished double bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom and toilet having both bath and shower and heated towel rails. All rooms have masses of built in wardrobes space for bulky ski gear and a balcony. Hairdryers are also provided in each room, as well as a safe. Every room has its own TV with attached Apple TV box which guests can use with their own Apple login.
St Moritz contains 2 full-sized twin bunk beds ideal for children or adults who wish to share in addition to an ensuite shower room and toilet.
Voted by House and Garden as one of the top 5 family oriented luxury chalets, Chalet Auriane is a haven for the little ones. There is a small den area with books, games and a Wii to put smiles on their faces when they want to come indoors. The kids can also play in the garden, building snowmen or igloos depending on their talents.
A proper ski holiday should offer freedom to do what you want when you want. The real luxury with Chalet Auriane is that you have everything offered by the finest hotels without having to conform to any of their rules.
The chalet has been designed by a team of architects and interior designer Hugh Berry, whose c.v includes Fortnum and Mason and Scottish Home of the Year 2020, utilising stone, wood and steel to create a harmonious light-filled space perfect for relaxing in. Together with input from local mountaineers they have created a unique space incorporating the best of luxury and Alpine charm but with some quirky touches.
The sleeping accommodation is downstairs while upstairs is a superb 100m2 open plan living room/ dining room and kitchen with floor to ceiling picture windows guaranteeing spectacular views and plenty of room to relax. A roaring fire links the dining room and lounge areas and the open plan layout allows you to watch the chef in action.
The secluded outdoor jacuzzi can seat 6 people with great views over the valley. It is located immediately adjacent to the relaxation spa room containing the novel Sanarium™ sauna system which allows for a combination of heat therapy from traditional sauna through tropical rain forest to steam room.
Auriane has been welcoming Chalet Owners guests since 2014.
Good food and wine are two of life’s greatest pleasures. Throughout your stay our talented chef, who is Michelin 2* trained, will produce modern and traditional cuisine to tantalise your taste buds. The chef will take account of your likes and expectations, and will have been in touch with you before to discuss your meal preferences. Dining can be as formal or relaxed as you wish with cuisine ranging from hearty mountain food to high end fine dining.
Toddlers and younger children are not left out. Combined with a little magic and some help from the mums, the cook will plan special menus, ensuring the little ones also enjoy wonderful food during their luxury ski holiday and at a time best suited to them.
A typical day in Chalet Auriane starts off with a hearty breakfast. While you are out skiing, an afternoon tea is prepared and laid out for your return. Before dinner you may want to warm up in the sauna or hammam before snuggling up in the fur throws by the fire and relax with some pre-dinner aperitifs and canapés before sitting down to a 4 course meal. After dinner, coffee and chocolates are served and then it is time to fully unwind.
The evening meals are complemented by a selection of unlimited white and red wines. You also have the option of purchasing additional wines specially selected for our extensive à la carte list.
The chalet staff have a night off once a week, which is the perfect opportunity to grab pizzas or better still go out for dinner to try the local speciality of ‘le chapeau’ where you are presented with a plate of meats to cook on a ‘hat-shaped’ hot plate over oil burners with salad and frites side orders. We can of course advise on local restaurants.
