Gruezi wohl and welcome to Chalet Bergheim - we are delighted to share our mountain home with you! We always dreamed of finding a secluded, tranquil place in the mountains with easy access to enjoy year-round activities. Chalet Bergheim does exactly that. Built in 1933 in traditional swiss walliser style, our chalet is the perfect place to escape to the mountains.

Nestled in the tree line at 1750m and overlooking the rooftops of Zermatt, the 4* superior chalet is directly on the sunegga ski-piste. This gives access to the 450 kilometres of pistes offered by the best-known resort in Switzerland. Ski hard all day, grab a glass of red wine and sit in front of the open fire or enjoy the evening sunshine taking in the majestic views of the Matterhorn. Perfection.

Chalet Bergheim is a 4* superior luxury chalet which was built in 1933 in traditional walliser style wooden construction. Renovated in 2013, the chalet is furnished with bespoke, handmade furniture and natural materials but with all the features you would expect in a modern mountain chalet including free wi-fi throughout.

One of the only free-standing chalets in Zermatt, the chalet sleeps 6 adults comfortably in 3 double bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. With additional beds the maximum occupancy is 9 (max 7 adults, 1 child and 1 baby).

Or in the Summer, take the mountain bike up to a mountain lake for a swim, hit some single trail on the way down, go for a hike in the woods and then end the day with sausages on the bbq and a drink or two around a camp fire in the fire pit.

• Direct on the ski-piste from Sunegga.
• 20-25 min walk from the centre of Zermatt.
• Nearby restaurants within a short walk from the house.
• Surrounded by nature and very few neighbours.
• 400m from the nearest road access point in Winter (access by cleared footpath).
• Hike and MTB direct from the front door in the summer.
• South facing for afternoon/evening sunshine.

The chalet is in a stunning location above the village of Zermatt with dramatic views of the majestic Matterhorn. Far enough away to feel remote but close enough to access the many amenities Zermatt offers.

The chalet can be reached from Zermatt by foot in about 20-25 minutes. During lift operating hours, there is a free elevator from the Sunegga lift station to the Cervo hotel which removes a lot of the vertical height difference! Outside of lift operating hours the quickest way to town is via the Zig-Zag path. Or if you have a drink at the Cervo hotel they will give you a code to use the lift at any time :)

In Summer you can reach the chalet directly by taxi. In winter, the nearest road access is point is at Chalet Luna, 400m from the chalet.

The footpaths are cleared from snow by the local council and the walks are very enjoable, perfect for burning off your fondue! There is no traffic and you are surrounded by the mountains. We clear the snow on the short 10 metre path to the property before you arrive but during your stay snow clearance will be your responsibility. Because of this the chalet is only suitable for able bodied persons. Access may not be as easy as an apartment in town but the remoteness and sense of adventure is worth it!

In Winter, luggage transfer to and from the chalet at the beginning and end of your stay is included in the rental fee (10am-12pm and 2pm-3:30pm Monday-Saturday).
